About Me

Graphic Design - History

I decided to start graphic design shortly after I graduated college and got married. My sister-in-law is a professional graphic designer and gave me some tips and connections. I got my very first Mac and all the design programs and started to play. I spent many hours learning how to use the programs via an online tutoring program called lynda.com their tutorials were not too expensive and taught me many fun tricks to the work.

The design element to my work all stemmed from my years and years of art. I took every art class you could think of through middle and high school and took as many as I could squeeze in during college. Awards and private lessons on fanned my desire to continue and has become a passion of mine. My first teaching job as an art teacher has made my life as an artist complete. My other site www.deannaleeshaw.blogspot.com will feature more of my artwork on canvas and paper, whereas this site is specifically created for my graphic design.
